Frequently Asked Questions About Keratin

How long do the effects of the treatment last?

The results disappear progressively after three to five months, depending on the hair’s condition, maintenance process and number of washings. Since the treatment does not break through to the internal chains of the capillary fiber, it does not penetrate the roots and your hair will recover its natural state with no damage whatsoever. In order to maintain an impeccable hairstyle, we recommend repeating the treatment every three months.

Will the treatment work for all kinds of hair?

Thanks to their formaldehyde free formula, the treatments offered at Le Coiffeur can be applied to all kinds of hair, regardless of their condition. Our treatments are completely unisex. This treatment is apt for hair that has never been chemically processed, chemically treated hair (highlights, decoloring, permanents, straighteners) and all mistreated hair.

How long should I wait before dying my hair or other chemical treatments?

It would be preferable to dye your hair before the keratin treatment so that the dye won’t affect the keratin and the treatment will last longer. If you decide to apply color after the keratin treatment, you can revitalize the effects by applying an intensive hydration treatment.

How long does it take to apply the treatment?

Approximately 2-4 hours, depending on the length, volume and density of the hair.

Can I go to the beach after the keratin treatment?

Of course, as long as you wait two days after the product’s application. You can live a completely normal life without worrying about frizziness. However, we do recommend the use of a phosphate free deep conditioning treatment in order to protect your hair. It is very important to rinse your hair with fresh water after a day at the beach or the pool.

How much does the treatment cost?

Between 100 and 400 €, depending on the length, volume and density of the hair.
